Bio
With a voice that comes in shades of Springsteen, Cornell, and Stapleton, Tom Sless treads the lines between 60s heart, 70s grit, 80s sheen, and modern sensibility.
Tom has performed over 250 shows since relocating to Texas in late 2020, traveling the country aboard the VanHudson, his DIY-converted transit van. Along the way, he’s taken an old school approach to marketing his music: winning one fan at a time.
Despite their temptation in the modern music industry, it’s not followers, views, or streams that motivate Tom.
“I feel like I’m on an undercover mission to reveal whatever unifying force of human nature resides in the heart of every human being. If we find that, together, maybe we have a chance of reconnecting this broken country.”
Tom embeds these thoughts directly into the lyrics, stories, and atmosphere that define his live performances. His newest batch of songs will be featured on his forthcoming sophomore record, Heartland Ballerina, produced by Tim Lightyear (Shane Smith & the Saints; Lowdown Drifters) in Dallas, TX. Look out for Heartland Ballerina in 2024.

"We had the good fortune of connecting with Tom Sless and we’ve shared our conversation below."
‘Hi Tom, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking:’
'When I think about risk, I consider two things: (1) risk doesn’t solely apply to “risky” activities and (2) risk is a factor not just in our actions, but also in our inactions."
